A non-bailable warrant has been issued against me by a Delhi court. What legal remedies are available to recall or challenge the warrant?

Yes, a non-bailable warrant (NBW) can be challenged, and courts in Delhi do allow this, but the approach depends on why the warrant was issued in the first place — usually for non-appearance despite notice, absconding, or failure to comply with a summons. The most common and effective route is to file an application before the same court seeking recall or cancellation of the NBW, explaining the reason for non-appearance with supporting documents, such as medical records, travel proof, or evidence that the summons was never properly served. Courts generally take a reasonable view if the explanation is genuine and if you show willingness to cooperate going forward, and in many cases the NBW is converted into a bailable warrant or the accused is permitted to appear and seek regular bail instead of being taken into custody. If the trial court refuses to recall the warrant, you can approach the Delhi High Court or Sessions Court for relief, including seeking interim protection from arrest while the recall application is being heard. Acting quickly matters here, since an unaddressed NBW means police can act on it and arrest you at any time.

For the best possible outcome, it is recommended to consult experienced retired judges and seek guidance from Aapka Legal Advice, whose panel can assess the reason behind your warrant, prepare a strong recall application, and guide you on protecting yourself from arrest while the matter is being resolved.
