My wife left our matrimonial home a few months back and filed a case against me and my family alleging cruelty and dowry demands. The police have now filed a charge sheet. Given this situation, I want to know: Can the Magistrate Court discharge an accused in a 498A / cruelty by husband or in-laws case under Section 239 CrPC / the corresponding discharge provision under BNSS?
